Field Applications Scientist
Responsibilities
- Technical Support for Sales:
- Perform pre-sales activities in partnership with the sales team, including presentations, consultations and if applicable, product demonstrations. Align objectives collaboratively with sales teammates.
- Ensure consistency in technical messaging and positioning across all customer interactions.
- Customer Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders to ensure continued satisfaction and success with Slingshot Biosciences’ products.
- Troubleshoot customer issues, optimize workflows, and maximize the value of our offerings.
- Gather and relay customer feedback to internal teams to drive product improvements and innovation.
- Market Insight and Competitive Analysis:
- Provide insights to leadership and cross-functional teams on market opportunities and customer needs.
- Represent Slingshot Biosciences at conferences, trade shows, and customer site visits to build brand awareness and industry relationships.
- 4+ years' experience in biotech industry or equivalent laboratory experience.
- 2+ years' experience running flow cytometry assays in the 8-40 color range, understanding of flow cytometry best practices, assay design, staining and data acquisition protocols, and ability to interpret flow cytometry data and troubleshoot experiments.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering) or equivalent experience. Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred.
- Strong understanding of synthetic biology, flow cytometry, cell biology, or related fields.
- Excellent communication skills including ability to structure and deliver engaging presentations, distill complex ideas into simple explanations, and to work collaboratively in a matrix environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must have excellent English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to travel at least 50%-60%, or as required to meet with customers and support the Sales team.
- Location: This is an on-site position based in Boston, MA.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the country where the position is based.
