About the Role

As the Field Applications Engineering leader for Advanced Industry at INFICON, you will be a dynamic and strategic leader responsible for driving exceptional growth, fostering customer excellence, and developing a high-performing team. This fully remote position in the United States is pivotal in shaping and executing strategies to achieve sales targets, deepen technical engagements, enhance customer satisfaction, and elevate the company's technical position across all served markets.

Responsibilities

  • Talent Development: Develop a high-performing applications team through systematic talent development strategies. Coach, mentor, and guide team members to foster professional growth, enhancing skills and contributing to organizational success, ultimately leading to "Trusted Technical Advisor" status with major customers.
  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with peers and business stakeholders to develop and execute a comprehensive field application strategy that drives growth opportunities.
  • Design Win Growth: Set ambitious targets and identify new business opportunities to drive design win growth above industry standards. Foster innovation, continuous improvement, and adaptability to capture untapped potential.
  • Account Relationships: Nurture technical relationships with major accounts, adopting a CTO mindset alongside the management team. Collaborate cross-functionally with segment leaders, account managers, factory engineering, and product management to exceed customer expectations and deliver unmatched value.
  • Customer Excellence: Establish and maintain benchmark customer excellence processes. Participate in customer meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service, timely support, and tailored solutions.
  • Performance Analytics: Utilize data-driven insights to monitor, measure, and report on applications performance. Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement to guide informed decision-making.
  • Budget Management: Own budget planning and management for the field applications function. Optimize resource allocation to maximize ROI and achieve financial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics with 5+ years of applications experience in advanced manufacturing (Solar, Battery, etc.), commercial semiconductor manufacturing, industrial HVAC manufacturing, or a relevant field.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics is desirable.
  • Ability to develop a strong understanding of customer applications and think creatively.
  • Adaptability to various field situations and fostering strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Willingness to travel up to 35% (domestic and international).

Pay

Total on-target compensation: $170,000 – $207,000. This includes a base salary of $120,000 – $145,000, plus a commission and profit-sharing model for an additional 30% target of total compensation.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
