About the role
As a Field Applications Engineer at Würth Elektronik eiSos, you are a trusted technical partner for our customers throughout the product lifecycle. You translate requirements into practical component and application solutions, support design-in projects through production, and strengthen long-term customer relationships through personal consultation, training, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Visit customer sites to build strong customer relationships, answer technical questions, and provide hands-on support for product applications.
- Support customers throughout all design phases—from component selection and evaluation through qualification and series production.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships through visits, telephone and video meetings, technical seminars, and other customer-facing activities.
- Provide technical support to our outside sales staff, enabling them to advise customers confidently and deliver coordinated, solution-oriented support.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments and international colleagues to provide coordinated, solution-oriented support.
- Identify and communicate critical customer requirements, application challenges, and market trends to management, Product Management, and Product Definition Engineering.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, training sessions, product demonstrations, and seminars for customers and internal teams.
- Provide expert technical support for electronic components and basic technical support for electromechanical components, including documentation, data requests, and application-related questions.
- Represent Würth Elektronik eiSos at trade shows, conferences, and industry events while continuously expanding your knowledge of technologies and market developments.
- Build and maintain close relationships with Field Application Engineers (FAEs) and Field Sales Engineers (FSEs) at semiconductor partners in the region to support customer-specific design wins.
- Actively contribute to regional, national, and international conferences, workshops, and activities connected to the eiSos Technical Academy.
Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites (20–40%), including approximately 10–15 weeks of domestic travel and 1–4 weeks of international travel (Europe and/or Asia) per year.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Communications Engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
- Practical experience in application engineering, field applications, technical sales, hardware development, or a related customer-facing technical role.
- Sound understanding of electronic components and their applications; knowledge of electromechanical components is an advantage.
- Ability to analyze technical requirements, communicate complex topics clearly, and develop customer-oriented solutions.
- Confident presentation and training skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative, reliable working style.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the region to visit customers, partners, and industry events.
- Very good communication skills in English; additional regional language skills are an advantage.
- Proficiency with common digital communication and presentation tools.
