Field Applications Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Help other engineers achieve the maximum performance and benefit from Power Integrations products.
• Act as the technical lead in the sales organization within the Western US region, guiding customers on choosing the right products and optimizing implementations.
• Perform detailed bench work to breadboard and test solutions for customers.

Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to interface with customers on the telephone.
• Ability to present Power Integrations product benefits to large and small groups.
• Strong analytical and laboratory skills.

Requirements

• BSEE or equivalent; MSEE or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a sales engineering role.
• AC-DC Power Conversion design experience.
• Demonstrated magnetics design experience.
• Experience in one of the following end markets: UPS, Solid State Lighting, Metering, Appliances, Cell Phone chargers, Industrial controls, Notebook or PC Power Supplies.
• Prior experience as an FAE for semiconductor products used in power conversion applications preferred.
• Working knowledge of EMI and Safety standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% within the region for on-site customer support.
