About the role

The Field Application Specialist will offer product and process expertise, application knowledge, and technical support throughout the customer process. The main mission is to ensure successful application, implementation, qualification, and use of our products by supporting sales for product positioning and demonstration, while assisting customers with application development, initial startup, training, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales organization as the customer’s first point of technical contact for existing products and processes through consulting, presentations, trainings, demonstrations, trials, and application studies.
  • Collaborate with product marketing managers/specialists to support new products via beta site testing and product demonstrations.
  • Assist Sales in exploring new opportunities and providing technical support for existing ones, including URS analysis, technical responses, and application trials to align products with customer requirements.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer challenges and needs.
  • Provide technical qualification of sales opportunities and facilitate technical closure of sales.
  • Assist customers with first product runs, initial startups, and deliver high-quality training.
  • Support territorial marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with quality teams to troubleshoot and analyze customer processes for complaint resolution.
  • Build strong relationships with customers within the assigned sales territory.
  • Report on competitors' products and provide feedback to the FAS management team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a life sciences-related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in biopharma, including at least 1 year of technical-related experience.
  • Product and application expertise for the relevant portfolio, including hands-on experience with key applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with sales, technical teams, and users.
  • Solid project management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities effectively.
  • Proactive, results-driven, and collaborative attitude.

Skills

  • Fluent in Mandarin; solid English reading and writing skills.
