FIELD APPLICATION SPECIALIST

About the role

The Field Application Specialist (FAS) plays a crucial role in supporting Yokogawa's Industrial Automation Products for Flow and Pressure. This position requires a strong technical background and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth technical expertise on Yokogawa Flow and Pressure products.
• Collaborate with the sales (direct and indirect) team to provide technical consultations and support during the pre-sales process.
• Demonstrate product capabilities, emphasizing their relevance to customer needs.
• Address technical questions and objections to facilitate the sales process.
• Serve as the primary contact for resolving pre-sales technical queries.
• Conduct on-site and virtual pre-sales product training sessions for direct and indirect sales team.
• Conduct Lunch&Learn sessions at end user sites.
• Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams, providing feedback to product management to improve offerings.
• Maintain detailed documentation of customer interactions, issues, and resolutions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings to provide strategic insights.
• Travel to customer sites, conferences, and trade shows as needed – minimum 50% of the time.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Technical Program or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or relevant field. 5+ years of experience in a similar technical, application, or customer-facing role.
• Skills & Competencies: Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to deliver engaging presentations and trainings. Proficiency in Pressure and Flow instrumentation products. Self-motivated.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
