Field Application Scientist - Confocal

About the role

At Leica Microsystems, one of Danaher’s 15+ operating companies, you’ll provide technical pre- and post-sales support for all confocal microscopy products. This remote role covers Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York City, and Connecticut, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, Northeast within the Life Science Research division.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert product, application, and software support to customers and sales teams, performing successful product demonstrations to drive sales results.
• Offer technical troubleshooting and conduct trainings for customers and Leica employees.
• Participate and instruct in customer workshops and schedule/run product seminars.
• Test and confirm demo system functionality, develop protocols to image customer samples.
• Work with customers or other professionals to generate field data and application notes highlighting product benefits and differentiating Leica products.
• Assist in meeting sales goals for Widefield sales reps in the assigned territory and provide motivation and support to help them achieve their targets.

Requirements

• BA/BS in the life sciences or optics field (Masters or PhD preferred).
• Minimum 2 years in a research environment, regularly applying microscopy and digital imaging techniques.
• High level of computer proficiency with troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience in a customer-facing support role.
• Teaching or training experience, providing guidance on using imaging equipment and techniques to solve scientific questions.
• Familiarity with biological imaging applications; fluorescence, confocal microscopy, and optics experience highly valued.

Travel & Physical Requirements

• Up to 40% overnight travel.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $85,000.00–$95,000.00. This role is also eligible for Sales Incentive Compensation (SIP), with a total target compensation at plan (base + SIP) of $125,000.00 – $135,000.00 annually.
