Brief Description

The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) must be local to Cleveland, OH or Washington D.C.

About the Role

Serve as the company's subject matter expert in ground search and demining technologies across military and humanitarian applications. Provide advanced technical support for current and prospective key account customers, ensuring effective problem resolution and product integration. Participate in product trials, customer engagements, and technical evaluations; generate detailed technical reports to document findings and recommendations. Maintain deep product knowledge across all relevant equipment and technologies to support evolving customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supports pre-sales and post-sales activities, including troubleshooting, technical documentation, and feedback collection to support ongoing product improvement.
  • Works independently in diverse environments, communicating complex technical information clearly, and upholding a high standard of professionalism and technical competence during frequent travel and customer engagements.
  • Develops strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders at both technical and leadership levels, gathering and communicating critical customer feedback to engineering and R&D teams to support continuous product improvement.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Technical teams to support pre-sales discussions, customer visits, and technical solution development.
  • Partners with internal departments, including R&D and T&M Laboratories, to test, certify, and standardize new products and system components.
  • Assists in developing internal documentation, procedures, and best practices to enhance team knowledge and operational consistency.
  • Supports the creation and refinement of custom solutions for new business opportunities and unique field challenges.
  • Represents the company at industry events, exhibitions, and trade shows; assists with technical presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Delivers technical training and educational sessions to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent in a technical or military field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in demining operations, with demonstrated knowledge of detection technologies, environmental factors, and soil composition.
  • Previous experience with Department of Defense in an EOD capacity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.
  • Ability to fly on commercial airlines.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Education, Experience, And Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • Several years of technical experience in demining including knowledge of detection technologies and soil composition.
  • Previous experience with Department of Defense in an EOD capacity.
