About the Role
This position performs work functions associated with locating, notifying, and securing payments from customers with delinquent accounts. Additionally, the role involves delivery and warehouse activities such as loading/unloading trucks and driving delivery trucks to transport merchandise to customers’ homes or businesses.
Responsibilities
- Confer with customers by telephone to determine reasons for overdue payments, review terms of sales, service, or credit contracts, and secure payments.
- Document all correspondence and attempted correspondence with customers regarding accounts.
- Receive payments and post amounts to customer accounts.
- Travel to customers’ homes to collect late payments; assist with repossessions of merchandise, if necessary, upon approval of the Store Manager.
- Prepare paperwork for legal action against severely late-paying customers.
- Log details of work activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Operate a personal computer, printer, calculator, copier, telephone, and other equipment to complete essential functions, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Assist delivery truck drivers with directing trucks into unloading areas to ensure safe operations.
- Load trucks in preparation for daily deliveries; unload merchandise at customer locations and set up as necessary.
- Load pick-ups as needed and obtain customer signatures on receipts for pickups or deliveries.
- Record deliveries on delivery records and submit to management.
- Monitor proper maintenance and regular inspection of vehicles for adherence to safety practices; perform general maintenance of vehicles; record fuel/fluid usage and submit to management.
- Unload merchandise from warehouse and freight trucks.
- Place stock on shelves or racks and set up merchandise and sales promotion displays.
- Assemble merchandise as required.
- Assist with repossessions of goods.
- Perform general maintenance and grounds keeping duties for the warehouse and/or store.
- Perform customer service inspections and/or repairs as needed.
- Follow and adhere to Delivery Standards, Customer Service Counter Standards, and Telephone Standards.

- Assist in other store departments as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six months of experience in a distribution or warehouse environment.
- Six months of experience in payment collections or general office procedures.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.

Physical Demands
- Tasks require the ability to exert heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects and materials of moderately heavy weight (up to 100 pounds) and occasionally handling heavier objects (in excess of 100 pounds).
- Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues or signals.
- Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
- Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, temperature extremes, electric currents, or toxic agents/chemicals.
