Brief Overview

Since 1915, Walman Optical has been serving independent eye care professionals with solutions for their optical needs. As a Field Account Manager, you will develop and implement strategies to grow sales through relationships with existing and potential customers.

General Function

  • Foster strong relationships with existing customers to increase loyalty and sales retention
  • Grow sales revenue within existing customer base through consultative selling
  • Develop new business with prospective customers
  • Identify areas for improvement to exceed sales quotas
  • Implement and monitor partnership programs with territory-based customers
  • Use competitive knowledge to recommend opportunities for market share growth
  • Liaise between Sales Force and Strategic Partners to maximize field opportunities
  • Operate as a lead point of contact for customer-specific matters
  • Conduct training sessions with customers to maintain consistent messaging
  • Collaborate on business management of Strategic Partnerships within assigned territory
  • Give presentations on enhanced practice management and market trends to doctors and opticians
  • Support promotions (sell-in and sell-through) by understanding brand and business objectives and incorporating input from Sales, Marketing, and Operations
  • Foster strong relationships and provide ongoing support to key partners from both Alliance and Buying Groups, specifically ADO Practice Solutions
  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customers' needs and objectives
  • Identify and grow opportunities within territory and collaborate with sales leadership to ensure growth attainment

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in account management or similar roles, preferably in the optical industry
  • Outside sales Territory & Call Cycle Management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence
  • Attention to details including data analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and deliver strong execution
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact and negotiate effectively at all organizational levels
  • Strong initiative and sense of urgency
  • Ability to quickly generate and initiate creative solutions to problems
  • Ability to solve various types of problems involving multiple departments within the company
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Willingness to travel and ability to drive a company automobile

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or similar
  • Professional outside B2B selling skills in the healthcare arena
