About the role

Exceed sales and profit targets in a designated territory by implementing sales and marketing programs and establishing both short and long-term sales strategies. Drive growth by securing profitable new accounts through industry research, networking, and proactive prospecting.

This position requires operation of a company vehicle, or a personal vehicle, more than 50% of the average work week. A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report will be run, and an acceptable MVR is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage sales and customer retention initiatives to enhance overall sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction, while overseeing planning, forecasting, and reporting of sales activities and competitive pricing tactics.
  • Generate a strategic sales call schedule and engage in face-to-face customer visits to identify opportunities and enhance sales revenue through value-added solutions, navigating objections and adversities.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain a pipeline of qualified, managed accounts to meet or exceed total sales and margin plans using a designated customer relationship manager tool.
  • Focus on new account opportunities by utilizing effective cold call strategies to facilitate territory account growth.
  • Implement approved sales strategies to achieve targeted sales outcomes and foster valuable customer relationships, maintaining industry-specific product knowledge and a deep understanding of specialized services.
  • Utilize Salesforce reporting and data analysis to identify opportunities within territory for sales and revenue growth.
  • Review customer portfolio to identify and drive action with underperforming accounts.
  • Collaborate with inside sales to support business growth and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field (preferred).
  • Business-to-Business sales experience, including experience using various sales techniques such as Consultative or Solution-Based Selling.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.
  • Operation of a company or personal vehicle more than 50% of the work week.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.

Nature and Scope

  • Identify key barriers/core problems and apply problem-solving skills to deal creatively with complex situations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems, making decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information.
  • Independently perform assignments with instruction limited to expected results; determine and develop approaches to solutions.
  • Receive technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
  • May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results.
  • Contribute to employees' professional development but do not have hiring or firing authority.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area; unpleasant conditions are infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting with frequent opportunity to move about; occasional need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Qualifications

Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline with 5-8 years of experience in a related field, or an MS/MA with 3-5 years of experience. Certification is required in some areas.

Pay

Current compensation includes a $78,000 base salary plus commission, transitioning to a fully commission-based structure. High performers have strong uncapped earning potential in the fully commissioned model.
