About the role
The role is integral to the administrative team and involves supporting the Accounting Manager in managing full cycle accounting duties, implementing and executing accounting policies and processes. The position supports financial and regulatory reporting, tax compliance, tax return preparation, operational accounting activities, and internal financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Accounting Manager in managing the full cycle of accounting duties.
- Implements and executes accounting policies and processes.
- Supports financial and regulatory reporting, tax compliance, tax return preparation, operational accounting activities, and internal financial reporting.
- Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable, collecting necessary documentation.
- Reconciles bank statements daily, maintaining the company bank balance, and staying aware of outstanding checks.
- Assists the Accounting Manager in managing A/R, A/P, GL transactions.
- Aids in the management of month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintains the accuracy of the general ledger, including fixed asset activity, debt activity, and the chart of accounts.
- Participates in continuous improvement by developing and maintaining business processes and systems, including software, and establishing standards, practices, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in Accounting.
- Thorough theoretical knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping software.
- Understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage, prioritize, and multi-task on multiple projects and priorities.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team culture.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
