About the role
The Fiberglass Fabricator is responsible for cutting, grinding, and drilling fiberglass components for door products using a variety of hand, power, and air tools. Fabricators review daily requirements and work instructions via iPad to build and assemble parts accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Cut, grind, and drill fiberglass components for door products using chop saws, grinders, drill press, and other tools.
- Read and follow blueprints, work orders, and instructions to ensure accurate and timely assembly.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of manufactured parts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Uphold and lead safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Requirements
- Ability to work the schedule: Monday - Thursday, 4:30 AM - 3:00 PM.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions, and blueprints.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Proficiency in using standard tape measures and other measuring tools.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or 2-4 years of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
- Frequent squatting, kneeling, and standing.
- Exposure to dust/dirt frequently and fumes, vapors, and mists occasionally.
- High noise level in a manufacturing environment.
