Fiber Technician - Dayton, OH

About the role

Join the future of connectivity as a Fiber Technician in Dayton, OH. You will perform installations, disconnects, and service changes for residential and business customers, troubleshoot high-speed internet and phone services, and educate customers on Metronet products.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot all Metronet services from the terminal to Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
• Provide in-depth customer education on all Metronet products and services.
• Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services and products to customers.
• Maintain professionalism with customers and fellow associates.
• Work toward meeting key performance metrics.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested, including on-call rotation duties after regular business hours.
• Available to work overtime, including holidays and weekends, and travel for training as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with a telecom/fiber company preferred but not required.
• Physical ability to work from a kneeling or standing position for long periods.
• Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet with proper safety equipment.
• Able to lift and carry loads of up to 75 lbs, including ladders.
• Ability to work with basic hand tools and specialized equipment with training.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle/equipment safely and professionally.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Willingness to work as a team and independently.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
