Fiber Technician
About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fiber Technician to support data center projects. This role is responsible for installing, terminating, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cabling systems in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables
- Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling systems in data center environments
- Prepare fiber cables, enclosures, splice trays, and panels
- Conduct OTDR, light source, and power meter testing; accurately interpret results
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic network issues
- Maintain clear documentation (test results, labeling, as-builts, and splice records)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project documentation
- Follow industry standards and safety policies
- Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and maintain quality
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Fiber Technician or Fiber Splicer
- Experience in data center or structured cabling environments preferred
- Proficiency with fusion splicing, termination, and fiber testing equipment
- Understanding of TIA/EIA and industry fiber standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, climbing, extended standing)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Preferred qualifications: Data center or mission-critical experience, BICSI certification or equivalent, manufacturer-specific fiber training, experience with structured cabling systems

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
