About the role
Contribute to providing quality service by locating and repairing fiber impairments in the field. Work primarily independently while examining existing fiber plant and connecting new builds for residential and enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
- Locate and repair fiber impairments in the field
- Examine existing fiber plant and connect new builds for residential and enterprise customers
- Maintain and improve Spectrum’s fiber network
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, and BCT/E)
- At least 1 year of maintenance tech or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of traditional fiber architectures, fiber optic systems, testing and splicing equipment, and CWDM/DWDM
- Valid driver’s license
Skills
- Highly organized
- Able to work independently
- Strong communications skills
Abilities
- Able to stand for 50-70% of the time
- Able to use hand tools
- Able to climb poles using gaffs and climbing belts as infrequently
- Able to work in inclement weather
Pay
The base pay for this position generally is between $24.30 and $53.40. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
