Role Overview
This position involves installing, splicing, testing, and documenting outside plant fiber optic facilities.
Responsibilities
- Operate fusion splicers, OTDRs, and light testers to ensure quality standards
- Troubleshoot and repair buried or aerial fiber
- Coordinate with construction teams
- Read construction plans
- Maintain equipment
- Complete documentation
- Support project closeout activities
- Install enclosures and splice fibers
- Perform testing and troubleshoot faults
- Document work and communicate with teams to ensure project progress
- Support field technicians
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing, or equivalent military service
- Valid driver's license
- Physical ability to climb structures
- Ability to pass safety and customer-specific requirements
