Fiber Splicer
Responsibilities
- Squeeze fiber optic cables, including both loose tube and ribbon cables, including high count ribbon fiber.
- Create proper splice cases and fiber termination panels.
- Figure out and fix issues with signal problems.
- Operate various technical equipment like computers, OTDRs, power meters, and fusion splicing machines.
- Lift and maneuver splice enclosures and other plant equipment.
- Install and organize fiber optic cabling.
- Read and interpret existing fiber records, on maps or in the field.
- Provide timely reports on splice and test results to the office team.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven experience with fiber optic cable splicing, testing, and repair.
- Expertise with tools such as cable strippers, crimpers, and test equipment.
- The ability to complete testing and reporting results promptly.
- A strong work ethic and a leadership mindset.
- A valid US driver's license.
- The capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to work safely, with or without supervision.
- Experience with both loose tube and ribbon splicing, as well as high count fibers.
- An OSHA 10 certification is preferred.
- At least 21 years of age to meet Tilson's driving eligibility requirements.

Skills
The ideal candidate will have fiber splicing experience as part of an OSP deployment, be safety focused, customer and quality oriented, with a strong work ethic and a positive, CAN-DO attitude.
