Responsibilities
- Produce end-to-end fiber optic networks with a focus on quality and precision.
- Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks.
- Operate all testing equipment and resolve challenges common to fiber optic networks.
- Prepare fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
- Utilize fusion splicer and test equipment including OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, and Power meter.
- Apply fiber engineering knowledge: fiber design, reading documentation, understanding light levels, and dB loss.
- Work in outdoor utility construction sites.
Requirements
- Safety is a priority in your day-to-day work.
- Track record of completing work with a high level of quality.
- Ability to solve complex problems with a hands-on approach.
- Experience with long-term projects and teamwork in outdoor environments.
- 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience.
- Comfortable working on a ladder or bucket truck.
- Flexible with a variety of shifts, including overtime.
MOS Codes V80B, B05A, 3D157, 6423, and 5699 are relevant to this position.
Pay
$25–$40 per hour.
