Responsibilities
- Installation of fiber splice enclosures
- Onsite plant fiber optic cable slicing, including both loose tube fiber and ribbon fiber
- Fusion Splicing
- Unidirectional and bidirectional fiber testing
- Light Level Testing, OLTS
- Fiber troubleshooting and repair, test report generation
- Cook up daily crew activities and work schedule
- Maintain a safe and quality work site and location
- Maintain Fiber equipment and tools
- Daily inspection of all equipment assigned to crew
- Ensure work is conducted in a safe manner and according to company safety and OSHA practices
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance
- Proficiency in fusion splicing and fiber testing
- Knowledge of fiber optics and related technologies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
