Fiber Line Operator

About the role

Carpenter Co. has immediate openings for Warehouse Operator in our Fabrication Department on 3rd shift at our Longview, NC manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the operation of machinery that cuts and packages foam bedding products. The successful candidate will communicate with department manager and lead person for direction of material needing to be cut, operate several pieces of equipment to determine the best material utilization, and maintain steady work pace in a high-volume department.

Responsibilities

• Operate computer-controlled cutting equipment to cut and package foam bedding products.
• Read and interpret work orders and use order listings to determine sizes and amounts to cut.
• Verify proper machine operations and check output accuracy.
• Make machine adjustments while monitoring the equipment.
• Work independently and in a team environment.
• Assist with inventory as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
• 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• 1+ months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Pay

$22.02–$22.75 per hour plus $1.00 shift differential for all hours worked on 2nd or 3rd shifts.

Schedule

Full-Time, Sunday–Thursday 9:00 pm–5:30 am or depending on business needs.
