Fiber Construction Field Inspector

OSP Field InspectorLocation: East Greenbush / Albany, NYProject: Underground Fiber ConstructionWe are looking for an OSP Field Inspector to provide field oversight for an active 70-mile underground fiber construction project in the East Greenbush, NY area. This person will spend the majority of their time in the field following construction crews, tracking progress, identifying potential safety concerns, and serving as the local point of contact for residents, contractors, and town representatives.ResponsibilitiesFollow and monitor OSP construction crews in the fieldTrack daily construction production and overall project progressMonitor job sites and identify potential safety concernsCommunicate field updates, issues, and concerns back to the project teamServe as a professional on-site representative during constructionSpeak with residents regarding construction questions or concernsCoordinate and communicate with municipal and town representativesEscalate construction issues when necessaryAssist with miscellaneous field needs, including retrieving permits when neededQualificationsGeneral understanding of OSP telecom or fiber constructionUnderground construction experience strongly preferred1-3+ years of telecom, utility, or construction experience preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsComfortable speaking directly with residents, contractors, and municipalitiesAble to work independently and manage daily field responsibilitiesCandidates local to the Albany / East Greenbush area are strongly preferredPrevious field inspection, OSP construction, telecom construction, or utility construction experience is a plusFiber splicing experience is not requiredIdeal BackgroundWe are especially interested in candidates who have worked around OSP fiber, underground utilities, telecom construction, utility inspection, or construction field operations and understand how to monitor contractors and communicate what is happening in the field.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of East Greenbush, NY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
