FHE Field Service Technician II
About the role
As a Fuel Handling Equipment Field Service Technician, Level 2, you will support Westinghouse’s mission to provide clean energy solutions by assisting the FHE Outage and Maintenance Services team. Your responsibilities include installing, setting up, and maintaining fuel handling/outage critical crane equipment, reviewing operational procedures, and participating in training programs.
Responsibilities
- Install, set-up, and maintain fuel handling/outage critical crane equipment at customer sites worldwide.
- Review operational procedures, maintenance procedures, and drawings in detail.
- Provide support to engineering and training by performing activities such as equipment modifications, equipment setup and testing, mock-up preparation, process testing, and equipment and process qualifications.
- Document equipment performance issues during field implementation, and ensure corrective actions are complete before next scheduled use.
- Participate in training programs to acquire and maintain certifications and keep current with technology and procedures.
- Document all quality related issues.
- Practice a "Safety First" attitude as an important part of all activities.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in work areas.
- Develop, exercise and promote team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers and other departments.
- Report to the service supervisor the status of field work progress, changes, problems, and mistakes on a daily or as needed basis.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent plus a 2-year post-high school degree/certificate or equivalent in experience.
- Specific knowledge and training in electrical, electronic, programmable logic controller, or mechanical components.
- 2 or more years of experience where satisfactorily demonstrated evidence of mechanical, electrical, and programmable logic controller knowledge and skill.
- Nuclear industry experience is beneficial.
- The ability to occasionally carry/lift up to 50 pounds.
- Full range of motion including ability to reach, climb, kneel, squat, grasp, bend forwards and backwards, sit, and stand for 4 hours per day.
- Ability to pass a Westinghouse physical which includes a spirometer for the ability to wear a respirator.
Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $68,526.45 to $89,583.92 per year.
Schedule
This is a remote role that requires significant travel by airplane and automobile (60%-70%). Projects are typically 2-4 weeks long, but during Spring and Fall may be traveling 2 to 3 months at a time before going home to reset.
