Career Ferry Captain Battle Harbour is seeking a hardworking, friendly, and dedicated individual to join our team. We provide authentic experiences and deep connections for our guests, and we are looking for someone who can contribute to this mission.

Responsibilities

• Operate, navigate, and maintain the 42’ Cape Islander Trinity Pride as seaworthy, in good running order, safe, and reliable.
• Ensure the Trinity Pride is kept clean and tidy, especially areas used by or visible to passengers.
• Provide boat safety briefings in accordance with Transport Canada requirements to passengers and crew on each ferry crossing.
• Support the Trust’s activities between Trinity Pride’s arrival and departure times at both Mary’s Harbour and Battle Island locations.
• Load passenger luggage and move the Trust’s goods between locations as needed.
• Perform other tasks as requested by the Trust’s Manager at Battle Harbour or Visitor Information Supervisor at Mary’s Harbour.
• Be available in Battle Harbour nightly in case of emergency use of Trinity Pride.
• Other specified tasks as identified by the Trust’s representative.

Requirements

• Master’s license for vessels under 60 gross tonnage.
• Current marine medical certification.
• Current marine basic first aid certification.

Pay and Schedule

Pay will be discussed upon application. The schedule runs from June 6 to September 10, 2025. Accommodations are provided in Battle Harbour.
