About the role

The role involves managing public assistance grants to support hazard mitigation efforts across Florida. Key responsibilities include overseeing grant applications, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management and coordination of public assistance grant applications.
  • Ensure all grant applications comply with federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify and prioritize mitigation projects.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of funded projects.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management and funding agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, public policy, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public assistance grant management or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of federal disaster recovery programs and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Qualifications

  • Experience with GIS and mapping tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of environmental impact assessments and community engagement practices is beneficial.
