About the Fellowship

The institution is seeking to hire two Law Fellows to join its team in Chennai. The Fellowship is designed for young lawyers interested in pursuing a career in legal academia.

Eligibility

• Holders of a B.A. LL.B. degree or equivalent qualification with a strong academic record.
• No prior work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience in legal aid, legal awareness, or street law clinic work.
• Familiarity with data collection, documentation, report writing, and digital tools for research, communication, and content creation.
• Fluency in English.
• Proficiency in Tamil and/or Hindi (considered an advantage).

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to university operations and legal education in India, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Support the intellectual and student life of the university.
• Provide academic support relating to the School of Law.
• Participate in the legal aid clinic initiatives, including planning and conducting legal literacy workshops, grant writing, stakeholder liaison, and development of resource materials.

Duration

The Fellowship is for a period of up to 2 years.

Mode

This is a full-time, on-site position.
