Feedmill Technician (Clay Center, NE)

About the role

The U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) is a 34,000-acre facility located near Clay Center, NE. The work performed at USMARC supports research that is focused on solving high priority problems for the U.S. beef cattle, sheep, and swine industries.

Responsibilities

• Feedmill and grain handling system operator.
• Mix and deliver bulk feed rations for livestock.
• Operate and maintain hay grinder.
• Operate and maintain all equipment and facilities associated with feedmill and grain handling systems.
• Monitors feed and grain condition.
• Maintains accurate inventory and use records for grain and ration additives.
• Works some evening and weekend hours and in inclement weather.
• Requires a valid driver’s license to travel between sites.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one (1) year of experience in agriculture or related field.
• Knowledge of farm machinery and equipment operation required.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to meet university driver eligibility requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and maintaining feed mill or grain handling systems is preferred.
