About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic for Pilgrim’s that is responsible for maximizing and maintaining department machine performance to support production needs. This role is located at our Feedmill in Wingate, NC.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic
• Troubleshoot and repair production machinery
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Perform tasks as assigned by the feed mill manager or maintenance supervisor
• Consistently utilize safety practices, including applying housekeeping practices to tools, equipment, and facility
• Complete preventive maintenance documentation

Requirements

• Preference given to those with demonstrated mechanical and electrical skills
• Specific experience needed
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
• Demonstrated ability to do basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentage calculations (ability to pass a Prove it Test)
• Lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Lots of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling or crouching, reaching with hands and arms, and smelling
• Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as weekends

Schedule

Monday–Saturday, 5:00 am to 2:00 pm
