Feedlot Facilities Maintenance (Grand View, ID)

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Detects malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Maintains physical structures of the feedlot to include fences, gates, buildings, water troughs, or plumbing systems.
• Maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Daily maintenance and repairs to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the feedlot.
• Affords assistance with construction projects as directed.
• Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience in welding, construction, or maintenance preferred.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stands, walks, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
• Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves more than 100 pounds.

Work Environment

• Near moving mechanical parts.
• In outside weather conditions.
• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
• May be exposed to animals.
