Feed Production Operator - Nights

About the Role

This position reports to the Feed Area Lead and is responsible for operating mixers, extruders, formers, and other assigned duties to produce pet food products.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mixers, extruders, and formers.
  • Accurately mix and produce all formulas including extruded, formed, and cold-formed products.
  • Maintain upkeep and cleanliness of all Food Production areas and machinery according to Quality Standard and SQF certification.
  • Apply Lean principles to eliminate waste and maximize productivity in mixing, extruding, and cold forming processes.
  • Operate forklift safely if certified, following all safety rules.
  • Notify supervisor of any pest or rodent issues, accidents, facility or equipment damage, or equipment breakdowns.
  • Ensure food safety according to SQF guidelines and SOPs.
  • Practice Good Lean Manufacturing concepts and principles.
  • Participate in company-wide 5-S program and training programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and/or required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Skills

  • Desire and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to adhere to scheduled work hours.
  • Maintain proper hygiene.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions in English.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 55 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
