About the role
Responsible for managing the overall manufacturing and quality of food for approximately 500 contract broiler farms. Overseeing activities of the maintenance department, including both repairs and preventive maintenance, to ensure output. Supervising activities of the grain operation and ensuring all other feed ingredients are readily available.
Ensuring compliance with feed manufactured and delivered per all regulatory guidelines, including FDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, as well as internal Company standards. Maintaining all FDA, Environmental, and Safety records.
Responsibilities
- Manage all production, maintenance, feed ingredients, and feed grain quality to achieve top 20% of Agristats while meeting production and budgetary goals.
- Work with Grow Out and Feed Mills to ensure accurate and efficient deliveries.
- Plan and manage Capital budgets and CERs (Capital Expenditure Requests).
- Project management including planning, CER writing, project oversight, budget management, and planning.
- Provide overall direction and support to the team you manage to achieve operational and safety goals.
- Guide training and development activities to build competence and commitment.
- Compile operating reports to assess and analyze performance for all areas of responsibility, including results and plans for improvement on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Gauge performance using Agri-Stats, budget vs. actual, and weekly reports.
- Ensure feed quality standards are maintained at all times.
- Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards are met or exceeded.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies: FDA, Safety, Environmental.
Requirements
- B.S. in Agriculture or Business preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in feed production.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to learn new skills and adapt to new policies and procedures quickly (e.g., VFD, FSMA, Safe Feed/Safe Food).
