Feed Mill Manager

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Manages 1 subordinate supervisor and 5-6 non-supervisory employees.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Interviews, hires, trains, and appraises performance of employees.
• Schedules and directs work, rewards and disciplines employees, and addresses complaints and resolves problems.
• Completes maintenance requirements and schedules maintenance/repair.
• Develops and implements mill preventative maintenance program.
• Maintains quality control of commodities received through regular inspection.
• Ensures quality of finished feed rations by using quality ingredients and following recommendations from consulting Nutritionist.
• Complies with applicable OSHA, FDA, and EPA regulations and maintains compliance records.
• Models safe work practices and follows safety rules and policies.
• Conducts regular safety training and monitors workplace for unsafe/noncompliant behavior.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of Word Processing, Spreadsheet, and Database software.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, work with mathematical concepts, solve practical problems, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work with airborne particles, work near moving mechanical parts, and outdoors.
• Ability to lift, carry, push/pull, pinch/grip, reach overhead and away from the body, walk, stand, crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
