About the role

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining all aspects of the feed mill facility. Scheduled to work Monday - Friday from 2:00 pm-10:00 pm, with weekends as needed. Responsible for on-call duties as required and ensuring all found problems are repaired before finishing shift.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, maintain, and test mechanical equipment, machinery, and components
  • Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts
  • Utilize shop mathematics to complete assignments
  • Interpret drawings of equipment to properly adjust, maintain, or repair machinery
  • Respond to requests by production area when mechanical issues with equipment are identified
  • Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and determine potential mechanical issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency, regarding both time and resources
  • Operate forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Reading, general math, and writing skills
  • Organized and able to multitask
  • Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of standard and metric measurements
  • Minimum 1-2 years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment
  • General knowledge of welding/fabrication
  • General knowledge of both low and high voltage electrical systems
  • Ability to work overtime, including holidays, nights, and weekend shifts
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Willing and able to stand for several hours
  • Ability to work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.) with use of PPE
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Ability to perform physical job duties including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, and crawling, with or without reasonable accommodations

Preferred Qualifications

  • General knowledge of boilers/steam systems
  • General knowledge of programming technologies, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and variable frequency drives (VFD)
  • Technical school education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, with weekends as needed.
