Job Summary
The restaurant is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to expand culinary skills and grow with the company. The ideal candidate will act as the second-in-command to the Executive Chef, managing the kitchen, serving as the head for culinary operations, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Successful culinary production operation under the direction of the Executive Chef
- Opportunity to serve as the kitchen head for culinary operations in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Stay updated on dining trends and new techniques
- Ensure all products are prepared consistently and meet departmental appearance and quality standards
- Manage areas of profit, stock, waste control, and training within the kitchen
- Aid in the onboarding of BOH employees
- Work in a fast-paced, high-energy, and demanding environment while maintaining professionalism
- Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
- Work flexible schedules including day, evening, and weekend hours as needed
Qualifications
- At least 3+ years of F&B industry and culinary experience in a similar role
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (a strong plus)
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices
- Effective communicator with a positive attitude and team player mentality
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, timeliness, and results
- Advanced troubleshooting, problem-solving, prioritizing, and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent knowledge of BOH systems, ordering, and inventory
Pay and Benefits
Salary range: $75,000 - $80,000k + bonus potential and benefits.
