Position Details
The purpose of the Federal Work-Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on-the-job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position.
- Eligibility for work-study is determined after you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Work-study requires that you are degree seeking and enrolled in a minimum of one credit that applies towards the semester you are employed.
- You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Job Duties
- Do welding projects for outside concerns
- Grease and adjust cutting shears
- Assist with SkillsUSA
- Assist with high school demonstration day
- Clean and fill water tanks
- Clean cutting and burning area
- Change cylinders
- Keep tool crib organized and stocked
- Keep welding lab neat and clean
- Shear and cut metal for students
- Empty and sort scrap cart
- Fill rod ovens and storage racks
- Run burning table
- Hauling steel from outside
- Grinding tables and cleaning machines
- Replace burning grates
