Job Summary
The position of a Student Worker allows one to be an important asset to the Office of First Year Programs and Student Life by assisting Staff and Student Leaders of clubs/organizations. Student Workers will assist students involved in clubs and organizations make an important impact on the campus by assisting in a variety of tasks. Additionally, Student Workers will be responsible for having a general understanding of Elgin Community College to accurately help customers that visit the campus.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Currently enrolled in a least six (6) ECC credit hours
- Qualify for Federal Work Study (visit financial aid for details)
- Good academic standing (min. 2.5 GPA)
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm about ECC
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills and the potential to develop these skills.
Essential Duties
- Assisting staff with programs and activities
- Acting as front desk personnel
- Data base entry
- Assembly of mailings
- Bulletin Board Postings
- Providing information to students about clubs and other Elgin Community College Services
- Maintain information brochure rack
- Affixing posters to bulletin boards
- Assist with van maintenance and cleaning
- Keeping Office and Kitchen clean and organized
- Storage & Club room clean up
- Pizza Orders
- Issuing Student ID’s
Other Duties
