Job Summary
The position of Spartan Leader is designed for student leaders who can contribute meaningfully to new students' transition to ECC. Spartan Leaders assist new students in making positive transitions, guide them through their first year, and support various events organized by the Office of First Year Programs and Student Life, such as Welcome Weeks, The Big Event, Passport Blitzes, New Student Convocation, Campus Jam, Campus Tours, and more.
Spartan Leaders are well-informed about ECC's procedures, policies, and resources and are trained to provide accurate and helpful information to new students. They also communicate with new students regarding their orientation completion and provide tours to incoming students.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Currently enrolled in at least six (6) ECC credit hours
- Qualify for Federal Work Study (visit financial aid for details)
- Good academic standing (minimum 2.5 GPA)

- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm about ECC
Essential Duties
- Welcome new students to ECC
- Lead discussion groups with incoming students
- Represent the college by providing accurate and helpful information
- Aid in Student Life and First Year Programs events
- Communicate with new students regarding their orientation completion
- Provide tours to incoming students
