Federal Work Study - Human Resources 2026-2027
Position Details
The purpose of the Federal Work-Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on-the-job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position. Eligibility for work-study is determined after you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Work-study requires that you are degree seeking and enrolled in a minimum of one credit that applies towards the semester you are employed. You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous training or experience in customer service
- Previous training or experience working in Microsoft Word and Excel
Job Duties
- Aid with clerical duties for Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and President Office as assigned.
- Operate telephone and answer and transfer calls.
- Take messages and communicate to appropriate person.
- Greet visitors and escort them to appropriate person.
- Respond to visitor’s questions professionally and courteously.
- Create databases/tables/queries/reports and input data as assigned.
- Electronic Filing / Scanning
- Create and maintain employee personnel files ensuring compliance with records retention schedule.
- Maintain confidentiality of all records including personnel issues, background checks, hiring information etc.
- Aid with background checks.
- Aid with data entry into HRIS system.
- Aid with candidate recruitment.
- Aid with data entry, descriptions, and postings in the position management system.
- Aid with work-study and tutor hiring.
- Aid with mass mailings.
- Performs light cleaning and maintain office supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
