Federal Work Study
Responsibilities
This position provides a variety of clerical support to include the following:
- Answer the telephone and take messages
- Respond to customer inquiries
- Maintain manual and automated files
- Input data into computer database
- Absorb students in locating and checking out career materials
- Absorb students in processing mass mailings
- Absorb students in assisting with the printing of various reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned by department
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
A current student, and enrolled at least half time for a minimum of six credit hours.
Students must meet the Work Study Program eligibility requirements.
Students must have a 2.0 GPA.
Desired Requirements
- Public Relations and telephone skills.
- Basic office skills
- Typing and word processing skills
- Ability to operate a personal computer, related software and peripheral equipment.
Pay, Benefits And Work Schedule
$15.00 per hour, with up to 20 hours per week based on department needs, financial aid awards and budget constraints.
This is a student pool position. While a posting may exist on our website, there may or may not be a need at this time; however, submitted applications remain active for one academic year and are available for the Department to review on an ongoing basis.
Conditions of Employment
- Finalists and individuals recommended for employment at Seminole State College must reside in the State of Florida at the time of hire and may be subject to background investigations and fingerprinting in compliance with Florida Statute 1001.64; and Seminole State College Policy 1.020; 2.020.
- The College will conduct various types of background checks which may include, but are not limited to: criminal background, credit check, driver's license check, previous employment and references.
