Federal Software Engineer, Attack

Summary/Overview

The Software Engineer - Attack will join our engineering team and report to the Director of Federal Engineering. They will be responsible for developing attack content and enhancing the data model architecture of the NodeZeroTM platform.

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with the Attack, Data, Commercial, and Federal engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Improve the scalability of the NodeZero platform by adding new offensive attack content and features.
• Work with other attack engineers and N-Day researchers to understand and enhance the technical aspects of reverse-engineered exploits.
• Maintain and extend the platform architecture, design, and data model to support new product features.
• Identify, take ownership of, and resolve bugs in the product.
• Maintain high software quality through code review, testing, and production monitoring.
• Adhere to and improve technical and developmental processes of the Federal Attack Team.

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, commerce, computer science, engineering, or related field, or significant relevant industry experience.
• Proficiency in Python software development.
• Proficiency with Docker and relational and graph databases.
• Strong grasp and application of software design principles.
• Experience developing and testing complex software systems with a focus on Federal networks at all classification levels.
• Strong grasp of secure software development practices.
• Proficiency with version control software (Git) and effective team collaboration workflows.
• Current or willingness to obtain and maintain a United States Government Security Clearance.
• Experience developing software in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge/experience with the AWS ecosystem.
• Extensive software architecture/design experience.
• Cybersecurity-related certifications/designations, such as Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN).

Preferred Education/Experience

• Current or ability to gain and maintain a United States Government Security Clearance.
• Experience developing solutions within the AWS ecosystem.
• Extensive software architecture/design experience.
• Cybersecurity-related certifications/designations, such as Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN).
