Federal Project Manager - Civil Works

About the Role

We’re seeking a Project Manager with Civil Works experience to develop solutions that address water challenges through projects including locks and dams, tidal gates and barriers, floodwalls, piers, wharves, pump stations, treatment facilities, and conventional designs for buildings, water, and wastewater infrastructure. You will lead design projects consisting of multi-discipline teams of engineers and architects from design kick-off through construction, primarily supporting federal projects for DoD clients, Federal Civilian, and various Defense Contractors with Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods. Additional project types include resilient and sustainable waterfront projects such as Coastal Engineering/Planning, Flood Infrastructure, Flood Modeling/Planning, Ecosystem Restoration, and Shallow/Deep Draft Navigation.

You’ll lead projects using effective project management techniques to enhance design solutions, leverage project delivery costs, and add business value. This role involves forming long-term client relationships, engaging team members, and collaborating with talented resources across Jacobs.

Responsibilities

• Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and in accordance with agreed scope.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with the client from project initiation to completion.
• Develop project proposal fees and scope in coordination with discipline directors and design leads, then lead fee negotiations with the client.
• Facilitate communication plans, ensuring appropriate information exchange among key stakeholders, and conduct status review meetings.
• Determine, monitor, and manage financial project metrics, schedules, and staffing requirements.
• Guide the overall development and quality of project documents, ensuring adherence to Jacobs’ Quality Program.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Experience as a client-facing Design Project Manager managing multiple disciplines on Civil Works projects.
• At least 15 years’ relevant professional experience designing civil works infrastructure.
• Experience working in a multi-disciplined environment.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentations.
• Professional Registration (PE).
• US Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree.
• Civil Works experience with onsite participation in construction activities.
• Demonstrated design and project management experience within Federal and/or DOD markets.
• Experience mentoring staff.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $121,300.00 to $185,000.00. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Hybrid working policy allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
