Federal Procurement Regional Manager
About the role
The Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) is seeking a Federal Procurement Regional Manager for the APEX Accelerator program. This position provides assistance to Utah businesses as they pursue federal, state, and local contract awards.
Responsibilities
- Provide procurement counseling assistance to businesses and assist them in becoming ready to enter the defense and government industrial base.
- Aid in the development of a Capability Statement and a Strategic Marketing Plan.
- Support Small Business Certifications and promote subcontracting opportunities for underrepresented small businesses.
- Train clients in areas such as Mentor-Protégé Programs, cybersecurity compliance, FOCI, and Government Innovation Programs like SBIR and STTR grants.
- Connect innovative businesses to Government Innovation Programs and help them find and respond to solicitation opportunities.
- Create Bid-Match client profiles and assist in coordinating APEX training sessions, workshops, and events.
Requirements
- Ability to learn government procurement and explain procurement concepts to clients.
- Strong customer/client relations skills.
- Basic understanding of government contracting and business/economic development.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration, economics, public administration, political science, or related field.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Ability to travel and work some evenings.

Program Support Duties
- Provide general office management support.
- Manage event registration page on APEX’s CRM.
- Process invoices for payment.
- Manage the weekly client email communique.
- Auxiliary in the coordination of APEX training sessions, workshops, and events.

The Utah APEX Accelerator helps Utah businesses find, bid, and win procurement opportunities with Department of Defense (DoD), federal, state, and local entities. The APEX team educates and assists Utah businesses to compete more effectively in the government marketplace through one-on-one and group counseling.
