FDA Systems Engineer I
About the role
The Systems Engineer role involves providing onsite technical support for data center operations, including hardware installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, vendor escort, and asset management.
Responsibilities
- Install, rack, stack, cable, decommission, and replace servers, network, and storage equipment.
- Manage structured cabling, patch panels, cable routing, labeling, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot server and hardware issues under the direction of remote administrators.
- Cookordination activities with customers, vendors, and the Data Center Operations team.
- Provide support during standard hours (Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM) and participate in a bi-weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in an enterprise or government data center environment.
- Knowledge of structured cabling, patch panel management, and best practices for cable routing and documentation.
- Experience with troubleshooting servers and hardware.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Qualifications
- US citizen with ability to gain a Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ticketing and asset management systems such as ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms.
- Experience coordinating or supporting infrastructure projects, including hardware refreshes, migrations, and deployments.
- Knowledge of data center standards, power infrastructure, change management processes, and industry best practices for physical infrastructure operations.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Standard hours (Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM) with a bi-weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support.
