About the role

The FDA Office of the Commissioner (OC) and Office of Global Policy and Strategy (OGPS) in Silver Spring, Maryland, is seeking a research fellow to support FDA's global regulatory operations and policy.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to research supporting FDA's foreign office operations, focusing on data analysis and trends related to unannounced foreign inspections of food, drug, device, and cosmetic manufacturers.
  • Analyze economic, geopolitical, industrial, and regulatory factors affecting the production and export of FDA-regulated products to the United States.
  • Collaborate with mentors to perform research and analysis for regulatory systems strengthening efforts and bilateral engagement action plans.
  • Engage in structured learning opportunities, including mentored research experiences with FDA subject matter experts, participation in training programs, and skill development in scientific writing, policy analysis, and emerging technologies like AI.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to gain exposure to FDA's regulatory and scientific operations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in relevant field within the last two years.
  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
  • Experience in global and public health.
  • Knowledge of regulatory policy.
  • Understanding of pharmacology.
  • Experience in health communications and international relations.

Benefits

Monthly stipend of $7,600, plus $532 per month for a health insurance supplement.
