FD 2026 Summer Intern- Closed Applicant Pool

Responsibilities

• Aid in day-to-day work within the designated department with non-clinical tasks and projects.
• Identify areas of opportunity to enhance patient care by providing feedback to the Designated Leader.
• Complete a presentation at the end of the internship on ideas, suggestions, and lessons learned during time with the organization.
• Participate in additional duties assigned to enhance the learning of the inner workings of healthcare.
• Float to clinical and non-clinical areas to gain exposure to different career fields.
• Present a positive image of UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge as deemed appropriate.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in high school or college.
• Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Working towards a four-year degree.
• Able to work a minimum of 10-20 hours per week in significant blocks of time.
• A minimum of 3.0 GPA.
• Good computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of InDesign is highly desired.
• Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
• A good team player.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Sometimes required to work weekends and/or evenings on a limited basis.
