Responsibilities
- Aid in day-to-day work within the designated department with non-clinical tasks and projects.
- Identify areas of opportunity to enhance patient care by providing feedback to the Designated Leader.
- Complete a presentation at the end of the internship on ideas, suggestions, and lessons learned during time with the organization.
- Participate in additional duties assigned to enhance the learning of the inner workings of healthcare.
- Float to clinical and non-clinical areas to gain exposure to different career fields.
- Present a positive image of UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge as deemed appropriate.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in high school or college.
- Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Working towards a four-year degree.
- Able to work a minimum of 10-20 hours per week in significant blocks of time.
- A minimum of 3.0 GPA.
- Good computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of InDesign is highly desired.
- Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- A good team player.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Sometimes required to work weekends and/or evenings on a limited basis.
