Position Overview
Busek is seeking motivated and talented Mechanical or Electrical Engineering students for our Summer 2026 internship program. As an Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with our experienced engineers and scientists on exciting projects in space propulsion and related technologies. This internship offers hands-on experience and an opportunity to contribute to real-world projects.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the design, development, and testing of propulsion systems and components.
- Perform engineering calculations and simulations to support design and analysis efforts.
- Support the assembly, integration, and testing of hardware in a laboratory environment.
- Document test results, design updates, and other project data.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to solve engineering challenges.
- Conduct research and provide input on innovative engineering solutions.
- Helpful to have basic machine shop experience with standard hand tools.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for Mechanical Engineers.
- Understanding of circuit design, PCB layout, or embedded systems for Electrical Engineers.
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, or other engineering tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in space technology and propulsion systems.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship Requirement
- Due to the nature of work performed under U.S. government contracts and applicable security and contractual requirements, this position is limited to U.S. citizens.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
