Responsibilities
- Provides guidance and direction at the school level to design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate a comprehensive behavior support program.
- Works directly with identified students who require supplemental behavior intervention and support to adopt behaviors that promote school success.
- Serves as a resource for school teams, offering technical expertise and support to improve student social-emotional and academic outcomes.
- Conducts thorough Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of challenging behaviors.
- Designs comprehensive Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to address challenging behaviors.
- Collaborates closely with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure consistent and high-fidelity implementation of behavior strategies across all educational settings.
Requirements
- Possess a degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience in planning and providing professional development activities to adult learners.
- Completion of applied behavior analysis coursework and certification preferred.
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
- Sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with others through telephone and in-person contact, including the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls.
- Physical capability to use and operate office equipment such as computers, calculators, copiers, fax machines, and projection/video devices.
- Ability to engage in significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions.
