Catholic Community Services, Family Behavioral Health is looking for a Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team of innovators.

About the role

This position will be based out of the FBH Portland office, at times may work from home with scheduling flexibility to provide services to youth and families in the community and in their homes, as needed.

What We Offer

  • Excellent starting range of: $26.19 - $27.76 per hour
  • Bilingual fluency skills in Spanish and English, or other languages, as needed: $100 -200 per pay period (2 times per month) for service provision in support the families we serve.

Qualifications

  • In a Candidate Age 21 or older per DHS requirements.
  • Qualified Mental Health Associate (OAR # 309 - 032 - 1110 (71)).
  • Experience: A combination of three years’ experience, work, education or training revolving around child mental health, child development and/or social skill development.
  • Educational Requirement: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in the behavioral sciences field.
  • Communicate effectively, understand mental health assessment, treatment and service terminology and to apply the concepts, provide psychology skills development, and implement interventions as assigned on an individual plan of care.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Pass required background clearances prior to an offer of employment.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • Availability to work flexible hours (evenings, nights, weekends).
  • Provide acceptable driving abstract per CCS driving policy.
  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
  • Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or related field.
  • Experience in a non-profit or a social service agency working with youth and families who need assistance.
  • Knowledge of sexually/physically aggressive youth and their needs.
  • Knowledge of family systems and child development.
