Fashion Design Intern

About the role

Weissman’s Summer Internship Program offers students meaningful, real-world experience inside a leading dance and performance apparel company. Over 10 weeks, interns work alongside professionals across the business, contributing to real projects and gaining firsthand exposure to how ideas move from inspiration and concept through design, development, marketing, and ultimately into the hands of customers. Interns also participate in professional development, networking, and experiences designed to broaden their understanding of the fashion industry and the business behind it.

Responsibilities

• Work with a Guide to design garments from initial sketches through final construction for the Weissman brand
• Support the team with technical flats, sketch updates, and color revisions using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Participate in prototype fittings, providing input to refine designs and ensure quality standards are met
• Conduct research on trends, fabrics, and competitors to inform and inspire design decisions
• Manage timelines and present a final cross‑functional design project at the end of the internship

Qualifications

• Current college student or May 2027 graduate pursuing a degree related to the internship area
• Able to relocate to St. Louis, Missouri for the duration of the 10‑week summer program
• Strong interest in fashion, apparel, or related industries with a desire to learn and grow professionally
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute ideas and work effectively in a team environment
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and eager to take on real‑world projects in a fast‑paced setting
