About the role

The Farrowing Technician is responsible for assisting in the care and management of sows and piglets during the critical early stages of their lives. This includes monitoring health, feeding schedules, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily care and monitoring of sows and piglets
• Administer medications and treatments as needed
• Ensure proper nutrition and hydration for all animals
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the facility
• Document animal health and feed intake records

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in animal care or related field preferred
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Physical stamina for manual labor

Skills

• Basic knowledge of animal husbandry
• Ability to follow safety protocols
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
